An Open Letter to the United States Senate
The Senate opened debate Monday on a constitutional amendment that would allow Congress to prohibit desecration of the flag, with advocates of the initiative as close to success as they have ever been in their nearly two-decades-long drive.
(New York Times)
Dear Senate,
I’m very excited by the possibility that we might finally have federal legislation against flag desecration. With the LIBERAL ELITE JEW MEDIA focusing on the bloody quagmire in Iraq, the large areas of New Orleans that remain in ruins, the genocide in Darfur, the resurgent power of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the approach of an environmental tipping point, and the illegal surveillance of American citizens, it’s nice to know that our elected leaders have their priorities in order. Hip hip hooray, for you guys. Who needs a margarita? Just kidding, that’s only if we win!
But Senate, I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to think bigger. What is a country without dreams? I mean, besides the Congo, where four million people have died in the past six years! (Zing!) A country without ideals and purpose is a doomed and desolate place indeed. Even more importantly, we need the kind of leaders who can think through to the bigger picture, who can envision a nation that most of us didn’t even know was possible. When you finally get to pass this super important limitation on free speech, please take a moment to consider my proposal:
UNITED STATES MANDATORY CITIZEN UNIFORMS

Think about it. We’ll have to change our names to the United States of Fucking Awesome!
Sincerely,
Concerned Citizen #3116

That guy has a really hot ass. His ass is so hot it might catch that jacket on fire….what then? I too am glad congress is focused on the REAL issues facing this country.

If you vote correctly in three consecutive elections, you get sleeves that go all the way down.

WOW! That is TWO proposed Constitutional Amendments to RESTRICT rights of citizens (the other being the Gay Marriage Amendment). I would like to remind everyone that the ONLY amendment EVER passed to our GREAT Constitution that restricted rights was prohibition, and if I’m not mistaken, there is a Liquor store on almost every corner (unless you live in a dry county that stuck back in the days of Prohibition).

Com’on!
What is wrong about giving up some civil liberties? LOL
The Public has to realize that our rights are like seasonal clothing. The “Guba’ment” is throwing out our winter clothes while it is summer time - Nobody will notice UNTIL winter rolls around.
Then we will all ( that means YOU) be left out in the “cold” with nothing.
